Terms and Condition

1. Is my seat confirmed after I register online?

After you register online, you will receive an immediate email notification to confirm your interest. An invoice will be sent to you within 3 days if a place is offered to you. You may proceed to accept the place by making payment for the term fee either by posting the cheque or to arrive 30 minutes earlier on the first lesson. Your place will be confirmed only after full payment is received.

2. How much is the deposit and registration fee?

We do not collect deposit. There will be a $100 non-refundable registration fee per subject per student. The registration fee will be strictly non-refundable once the school offer the seat to the student. This will also be applicable for students attending workshops. Please note that the registration fee is not to offset the term fee or workshop fee. This is the administrative charge and not for us to profit from it.

3. What is the frequency of lessons?

Lessons will be held once weekly. There will be restructured lessons before major examinations as advised by Head of Academic. All lessons scheduled are compulsory and are part of The Physics and Maths Cafe programme. Students are not allowed to miss any lesson unless approved by Head of Academic.

4. What time should I arrive for my class?

We respect everyone's time and all tutors will start lesson promptly on the scheduled time. We would appreciate all students to arrive at least 10 minutes before lesson to settle down. While we understand there are valid reasons to be late at times, we would like to seek your understanding to help us minimize the disruption to the lessons by the late-comers. The school reserve all rights to deny late-comers entry to the classes.

5. Will I able to change my classes on an ad-hoc basis?

Yes, as we have many classes across the same level, you are allowed to make ad-hoc changes. You can check the class schedule from www.pmc.sg for classes available for your level and subject. Note that classes with * are not available for make-up. There is no need to make prior arrangement to attend the make-up classes. In order to keep the class size optimal, you will be allowed to make a maximum of 3 ad-hoc or permanent changes in a term (usually 10 weeks).

6. What if I cannot make it for all the available timeslots?

You may request to receive the worked solutions and the materials on the following lesson. Alternatively, you may register at http://thephysicscafe.com/digital/ to watch the digital lesson that you have missed in the comfort of the cafe. We regret that the fee will not be pro-rated as the fee is shared among all students in the level. We hope to seek your understanding on the matter.

7. When do we have to pay the school fee?

Payment must be made before or on the first lesson of the term (usually 10 weeks, or as advised by Head of Academic). The student will receive the invoice through email from the school at least 2 weeks before the due date. Lessons can only commence upon full payment of the term fee. We will like to seek your understanding that there will be an admin charge of $50 for late payment.

8. Is there any other fee?

There will be a non-refundable material fee of $50 every term (usually 10 weeks) or as advised by Head of Academic.

9. Do I have to register again for every new term?

Following initial enrolment (weekly lessons or workshop), the student's entitlement to a place in subsequent terms is automatic. There is no need to register again for the new term.

10. How do I withdraw from the next term?

You may submit the withdrawal online form at www.pmc.sg/goodbye. We will appreciate that you follow the proper withdrawal procedure so that we will have sufficient time to release your seat to the other students in the waiting list.

11. Can the parent communicate with the admin staff or the tutors?

The Physics Cafe mission is to help the student to become an independent, smart and efficient learner. We have high expectations for our students to take ownership of their studies. All communication on academic and admin matters should be between the student and the tutor/admin. Parents or guardians should not communicate with the center on behalf of the students for all matters.

12. Can the school withdraw a seat from the student?

The school reserves all rights to withdraw tuition services with immediate effect for any reason the Centre deems appropriate. In such case, balance of tuition fee will be refunded and registration fee and material fee will not be refundable.

13. How happen after I graduated from Sec 4 or JC2?

We are confident that you will do very well by the time we send you off for your final exam in your final year. We will like to give you a surprise gift and wish you good luck for your exams!

Kind Regards,

The Physics Cafe Team
